47-year-old family man suffers heart failure which could have ended his life!
Quah Soo Lian, 47-year old Malaysian man who is suffering a major heart failure called Congestive Cardiac Failure. The condition happens when the heart muscle doesn't pump blood as well as it should. As a result, fluids build up in his lungs, causing shortness of breath.
Back in 2006, he was always experiencing gastric, bloated & difficulty breathing.
Doctors examined him at the Medical Center and the report stated that he suffers a heart failure. His heart was only 16% in function and needs a new heart transplant. After that, an angiogram & echo test was performed. His condition became better after a week.
His condition became worst in 2011 when his heartbeat rhythm was inconsistent and he was admitted for a week at KPJ Damansara. They did an angiogram again and the result showed that his heart’s blood vessel is blocked.
Soo Lian had his angioplasty surgery (balloon inserted to widen narrowed or obstructed arteries or veins) back in 2012 and was admitted for two weeks.
Back in 2015, his heartbeat’s rhythm was abnormal again and he warded for 10 days at KPJ Damansara. His heart was enlarged and weak. The doctor did an angiogram and found the blockage in his heart.
In 2017, his heartbeat became unstable, and based on his report, he had water retention in his body. The doctor at KPJ Damansara found that his heart’s condition is an arrhythmia (the condition happens when his heartbeat is slow or fast) and increases in size.
His condition became worsen in 2021 last year. He couldn't breathe and had an inconsistent heartbeat. Doctors did Angiogram, CT scan, ECG, Echo test, and scope on the valve. The report showed valve leaking, vascular obstruction, arrhythmia, heart enlarged and heart failure.
He underwent a few surgeries such as valve replacement, valve repair, bypass x3 vessels. After four days, his heart stopped beating for 4 minutes, thankfully the doctor managed to save him. He was admitted for 2 months after the implant procedure was completed.
The total cost for all surgeries was RM265,000 and he managed to pay RM165,000 by using his insurance & savings. He needs to pay the remaining RM100,000 with our help.
His wife is working and the commitments for their family are almost RM2000. With her salary, they couldn’t afford to pay the cost.
