Support 2-month old baby Nuha heart surgery medical bills.

Objective of campaign:

A 2-month old baby diagnosed with heart failure underwent surgery and her parents are in urgent need of financial assistance with treatment and other medical bills totaling up to RM80,000.

Background:

Every parent in the world will be devastated.  It’s already extremely difficult for a mother to bring her child into the world and it’s an entire different level of difficulty to find out your new born is not in good health. Unfortunately, it was the case for Mr. Zair’s family. Their two-month old baby was diagnosed with TAPVD (Total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage), Ventricular Septal Defect, Heart failure. Simply put, this is a defect of the heart in which there is a hole in the wall (septum) of the heart.

After Nuha was born, the doctor noticed that the baby was having breathing difficulties (lack of oxygen) and had to be monitored immediately. The doctor noted there was a little “murmur” beat coming from the heart, which is common for newborns but needed to be monitored during monthly check-ups.

One month later, during baby Nuha’s check-up, the doctor found the baby’s breathing/heartbeat to be unsteady and proceeded to conduct a heart scan. Nuha’s condition started to get worse as her parents noticed her rapid breathing and crying increase over time.

Nuha’s parents decided to take her for an early checkup in Government Hospital Likas. Later, it was informed that Nuha had to be warded 3 weeks for monitoring. It was over here that they discovered the diagnosis and Nuha had to be operated immediately at Gleneagles KL, as instructed by the doctor.

Nuha underwent emergency surgery on 02/09/2021 and is currently undergoing treatment.
However, the cost of the surgery has not been fulfilled because the family couldn’t afford to bear the huge amount of (RM 80,000).

Nuha’s father- a truck driver, and mother- a kindergarten teacher, together earn around (RM1500) which is barely enough to support their household of 5.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, both parents were unable to work for 2 months as their jobs were halted and schools closed. Furthermore, they have not received any assistance to cover their living expenses and are currently finding it difficult to pay for their baby’s follow up’s, treatment and surgery costs.

We from MyFundAction and Myheart are collecting funds up to RM 80,000 for baby Nuha and her family, in hopes to ease their lives. Every little donation can help Nuha live and enjoy a normal childhood along with her siblings.
