BABY SUFFERING FROM CHRONIC LUNG PROBLEMS, 24 HOUR DEPENDS ON OXYGEN MACHINE
His age is only one, yet he is troubled with illnesses that threaten his life. Having chronic lung problems, also diagnosed for GERD.
Oswald Lai Xu Le was born twins at 24 weeks and was admitted to the NICU after birth. He was transferred from ward to ward due to his precarious condition within a year.
Throughout his stay in the ward, Oswald relied entirely on breathing support called Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine. He has been using it continuously until now.
"I didn't want to lose another of my children."
Her mother feels agitated upon seeing her son connected to many wires and tubes lying on the bed. Oswald is her only hope now after the Oswald twins died.
Oswald could not drink milk from a bottle like other babies. Because of his difficulty swallowing, he uses a 'feeding pump' to prevent the milk from entering his lungs.
Imagine a baby drinking milk every two hours through a tube…
