HELP SITI SARAH WITH LIFE-SAVING HEART SURGERY
She once recovered from Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a grouping of four heart defect problems shortly after birth. Her surgery in Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) was successful and fully discharged when nine years old. Siti Sarah living the life she dreamed of since then, also completed her degree studies. However, the disease relapse again.
Ten years after her first surgery, she began to feel shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, and irregular heartbeat. In 2017, she was referred to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) for a year and then referred to Hospital Serdang in November 2018. The medical record showed severe RVOT dilatation and branch pulmonary artery stenosis.
The heart complications have limited her day-to-day life routine. She frequently loses her consciousness and suffered heart arrhythmia. The doctor diagnosed that her pulmonary valve stenosis develops before birth as a congenital heart defect. It may not worsen over time but need urgent treatment.
Doctors in Hospital Serdang suggested getting surgery at Cardiac Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur (CVSKL) due to the long waiting list plus lack of specialists. She requires to fix the right ventricular outflow tract along with pulmonary valve implantation. Unfortunately, these will cost around RM 80,000.
